The Annual SWA Run AWAY 5K celebrates the harmony of industry and nature with a trail run/walk that brings awareness to recycling and solid waste issues. Held at the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s Greenway Trail System and Education Center, the course will take runners AWAY through cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes and lush pine flat woods, with glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve and the SWA's Renewable Energy Park.

Proceeds from this family-friendly 5K benefit Resource Depot and our mission to keep reusable materials out of the landfill and into the hands of individuals in our community. Participating in Run AWAY 5K supports our efforts to inspire creativity, conservation, and community engagement through REuse!

Running together has its perks.

Gather your group of six or more and enjoy a

$5 discount*on each registration fee.  

(Plus groups will receive a special shout-out at the race!) 

No need to gather the entire group before signing up – recruitment is open until online registration closes. 

Once the 6th person joins your group, the previous 5 adults will be issued a $5 refund.

Team members 6 and beyond will be able to register at the discounted price once they join the group.

*While the discount doesn't apply to the youth registration rate, youngsters can still be part of your race team. 

Interested in building a team at your workplace, school or organization?

Corporate Teams are coordinated through a designated "captain" at your place of business, who compiles a list of registrants and makes a single payment for all registrations. Corporate teams will be acknowledged at the race, with a special prize for the team with the highest number of registrations. Contact Patti at  events@swa.org  to create your corporate team.
